Özet
Ülkemizde mermer üretimi ve kullanımı yüzyıllar öncesine dayanmaktadır. Anadolu’da sanat, kültür ve medeniyeti temsil eden heykel, bina, anıt gibi pek çok eserde mermerler kullanılmıştır. 1990’lı yıllardan itibaren ülkemizde ticari mermer sektörünün gelişimi hızlanmış ve mermer ruhsatı ve ocak sayılarında artış gözlenmiştir. Isparta’da ise ticari mermer sektörünün tam anlamıyla gelişmesi 2000’li yılların ortalarını bulmuştur. Isparta il sınırları içerisinde birçok bölgede mermer üretim faaliyetleri yoğun bir şekilde sürdürülmektedir. Gelendost ilçesi de bu önemli mermer üretim bölgelerinden birisidir. Gelendost ilçesi, Eğirdir gölünün doğusunda yer almaktadır. Bölgede mermer üretimi yapılan formasyon Kurucaova formasyonudur. Bu formasyonun özellikle bej ve krem renginde olan ve yapısal olarak bütünlük sunan seviyeleri mermer sektörü açısından uygun renk ve desene sahiptir. Bölgede mermer işletmeciliği açısından en önemli sorun genel olarak karstik boşluklar ile kırık ve çatlak sistemleridir.
Marble production and use in our country dates base centuries. In Anatolia, marble were used many artifacts such as sculptures, buildings and monuments representing art, culture and civilization. From the 1990s, development of the marble sector accelerated in our country and marble license and quarry was observed increase. Development of marble sector was in the mind-2000s in Isparta. Marble production activites is being carried out intensely in many regions of Isparta. District of Gelendost is one of the important marble production areas. District of Gelendost is located to the east of the Lake Eğirdir. Formation of marble production in the region is Kurucaova Formation. Especially, beige and cream colored and structural integrity levels has suitable color and pattern for marble sector. Generally, the most important problem for marble management in the region is karst cavities and crack systems.
