Bu makale, kentsel sürdürülebilirlik kavramını klasik çevrecilik anlayışı üzerinden ele almakta ve bu güne kadar yapılan antlaşmalara değinmektedir. Bu bağlamda incelenen 1987 Montreal Protokolü ve Bruntland Raporu, 1992 Rio Protokolü ve Maastricht Antlaşması, 1997 Kyoto Protokolü, ve 2002 Johannesburg Zirvesi ekseninde özellikle şehir ölçeğinde yeşil bantlar fikri incelenmiş, önemi detaylandırılmıştır. İncelenen bu antlaşmalar çerçevesinde, yeşil kuşakların şehir ölçeğindeki önemi Ankara planları özelinde incelenmiş, 1932 Jansen planından başlayarak, 1954 Uybadin-Yücel planı, 1965 Yüksel Öztan Planı, 1990 Nazım İmar Planı, 1982 Yeşil Kuşak Planlaması, 2015 ve 2025 Planlarında ‘yeşil kuşak’ kavramına odaklanılmıştır.
This article deals with the concept of urban sustainability through the concept of classical environmentalism and touches on the treaties made up to this point. In this context, the idea of green belts, particularly in the city scale, has been examined on the axis of the 1987 Montreal Protocol and Bruntland Report, 1992 Rio Protocol and Maastricht Treaty, 1997 Kyoto Protocol and 2002 Johannesburg Summit. On the basis of these treaties reseach, significance of the urban scale of the green belt was examined in the context of the Ankara Plans, starting with the 1932 Jansen plan, the 1954 Uybadin-Yücel plan, the 1965 Yüksel Öztan Plan, the 1990 Master Plan, the 1982 Green Belt Planning, the 2015 and 2025 Plans.
