dc.description.abstractThis research is executed to design and analyze the critical role of BIM technology in evaluating the dam’s cost. The research presented the influencing factors according to the degree of their influence and the degree of their presence in the contracting sector. The number of samples amounted to 100 engineers working in the contracting sector in Iraq with experience in civil engineering. A survey questionnaire using a cross-sectinoal study was implemented. Then, statistical analysis was conducted to determine the vital factors affecting the design and analysis of the dam’s cost using BIM technology. Based on the cross-sectional descriptive quantitative research with the survey questionnaire, the study findings revealed that the quality control of project implementation contributes to the management of engineering projects to ensure that the cost of building dams is determined correctly and accurately. In addition, it was found that the BIM program plays a significant and advantageous role in calculating the cost of dams with higher accuracy levels amidst the large-scale activities and complexity of dams. Also, the employment of the BIM software tools helps manage and control construction project costs and facilitates determining the cost of building dams flexibly before construction. The study emphasized the need to control the scope of the project to meet the requirements and according to the specifications to facilitate determining the cost of building dams. Additionally, there are some vital factors that influence the design and analysis of BIM technology contribution to evaluate the dam’s cost, including the importance of engineering project management in determining the cost of building dams, the importance of the BIM program in calculating the cost of dams, and the role of modern technology in calculating the cost.en_US
