Özet
This study aims to analyze the essential effects of creating apertures and holes (necessary
for electrical and mechanical installations) on the mechanical behavior of flat slabs under
extreme loading. Simulations and numerical analysis with the ABAQUS program were used
to accomplish the research objective. In addition, a comparison study (including nine cases)
was adopted and used to investigate the impact of openings on the usability and effectiveness
of flat slabs. The size of the damaged zone, the highest load, the greatest displacement and
deflection were noted. Also, the impact of the opening size on these factors was investigated.
According to the findings, instances C1, C2, and C3 all exhibit maximum displacement
values that fall between 32.7 mm and 31.6 mm. Moreover, the maximum stress (failure load)
in cases C2 (5050 cm) and C3 (100100 cm) was 186.5 kN and 45%, respectively, less than
in instance C1. For C2 and C3, the damaged zone area rose by (47% and 144%), respectively.
Because the perimeter shrinks, it is obvious that as opening sizes grow, punching shear
resistance reduces. In examples one through nine, corresponding to varying amounts of
displacement, various values of loads were also recorded. In these cases, the load rises as the
displacement rises. Besides, it was found that the employment of CFRP material in slabs
contributed to significant enhancement in their workability and performance. Finally, using
CFRP in slabs helped increase their resistance to failure and potential to avoid cracks and
damage under critical and considerable values of vertical loads.
