dc.description.abstractThis research aims to design and analyze a Double Cardan Driveshaft for high-speed vehicles using advanced computational tools and composite materials. The study employs a comprehensive methodology that combines theoretical concepts with practical design and analysis techniques. The driveshaft is designed using SOLIDWORKS software, and numerical simulations are performed using ANSYS Workbench. Modal analysis is conducted to determine the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the driveshaft, while harmonic response analysis investigates the driveshaft’s behavior under the influence of torque at high rotational speeds. The study focuses on integrating composite materials, such as carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (Vf50%) and epoxy resin-infused fabric (biaxial), to enhance the performance and durability of the driveshaft. The numerical simulations are carried out in two stages, analysing the driveshaft made of traditional steel and then incorporating composite materials. The results demonstrate that integrating composite materials significantly improves the performance of the Double Cardan Driveshaft. The optimized design with epoxy resin-infused fabric (biaxial) exhibits a 338% increase in the safety factor and a 99.6% reduction in the damage factor compared to the traditional steel design.en_US
