Özet
Bu makalede Türkiye - Avrupa Birliği (AB) ilişkilerinde müzakere sürecinin ilk on yılı olan 2005 - 2015 dönemini incelenmektedir. Bu dönemin ele alınmasının temel sebebi söz konusu dönemin Türkiye - AB ilişkilerinde müzakere sürecini ve Türkiye'nin AB'ye muhtemel üyeliğinin son safhasını barındırmasıdır. Bu çerçevede makale Türkiye - AB ilişkilerinin kısa tarihsel gelişimini, müzakerelerin başlatılması kararını, müzakerelere geçiş ve başlangıç süreçlerini ele almakta, müzakerelerin özünü ve hızını değerlendirmekte, müzakerelerdeki mevcut durumu ve müzakerelerin geleceğine yönelik çıkarımlarda bulunmaktadır. Bu çerçevede AB ilerleme raporları da kapsamlı şekilde ele alınacaktır
This article examines the first 10 years (2005 - 2015) of the membership negotiations between Turkey and the European Union. The main reason for examining this pe-riod is that it covers the initial negotiations and the most recent period of the possible membership of Turkey in the EU. This article includes a brief history of the nego-tiations, the decision to initiate the negotiations, and the initial negotiations. In addition, the pace of the negotia-tions are evaluated and the future of the negotiations are predicted based on the assessment of the current stage in the negotiations. In this context, European Union prog-ress reports will also be analysed in depth.
